My son turned 9 years old and we had so much fun making everything! My sisters are incredible... they helped me with so much! They made most of the decorations! My son loved, loved his party!
Duck Dynasty???? Had never heard of this show until I got a cake request for one... so what did I do??? I watched it! :) No action but a bit entertaining!
So it was my Hubby's Birthday and his favorite candy ever is Reese's Peanut Butter cup! So of course... I made him a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and chocolate ganache filling! It turned out really good! I basically used the moistiest chocolate cake recipe that I had and added chocolate chips to the batter. When I layered the cake I filled it with semi-sweet chocolate ganache and frosted the cake with Buttercream I added just a tablespoon of peanut butter to the buttercream... and it was perfect! Oh.... one more thing.... the most important! U poured chocolate ganache all over the top of the cake and added chocolate sprinkles! :)
Not a fancy cake... it was quick and easy but delicious :)
Red Velvet!!! YUMMY!!! One of my favorite cakes ever! With cream cheese frosting. My mom had never tried Red Velvet cake! so for her Birthday I made her the perfect Red Velvet cake. She is now a Fan!
This cake was for a Quinceanera! Her colors were Turquoise and Lavender! I thought it needed a little more but they turned out happy with it just the way it was!
"Black Ops" I'm sure everyone has either played or know someone who is hooked on that game! I know I do! So this cake was also for my friend Irene, the same one that I made the Mickey Mouse cake for, and as a matter of fact... it was for the same day and same party! It was going to be a double party for 2 of her grandkids. This cake was going to be for a 10 year old boy.... he took some awesome pictures with the cake! Maybe she'll sign on and share them. :)
My Brother Julio and my sister in law Yohana helped me with this cake! They got down with the gun and grenade. And only one person caught this, but if you look closely... the name tag is a dog tag with a chain that wraps around the cake. I thought it looked really cool.
A good friend of mine asked me for a Birthday cake for her adorable grandson's 2nd Birthday. The theme of the party was going to be luau, but she wanted the cake to have Mickey Mouse on it! So I tried my best to combine both ideas. My favorite thing about children's cakes is that you can make them really busy and the kids love them, the more you add the nicer they look! but the cakes for adults are the complete opposite, you have to know when to stop because if you add a lot, they tend to look tacky.
