SWEET DREAMS

Sweet Dreams Cake

I made this cake for a sweet little girl! It was white butter cake with raspberry filling and buttercream frosting, covered with fondant of course.

Carousel Circus Cake

Carousel Cake

This Carousel cake was a bit difficult.  I used the Wilton Carousel kit and even though, that should have made it super easy to do because I didn't have to make everything out of sugar/fondant, it was hard covering the horses and carousel with fondant.  Nothing wanted to stick to the plastic.  This is why I only like using edible decorations.  It still turned out cute... Thank God! :)

Cookie Monster Cake

Cookie Monster Cake

Cookie Monster is one of my favorite characters!  He is so cute and I happen to be a cookie monster myself :)  I love, love, love cookies!!!  I would forgive almost anything for a cookie!  ALMOST anything!

I made this birthday cake for a teenager that wanted a cookie monster cake!  She loves Cookie Monster.  My friend Marisol helped me with this cake, it was a lot of fun!

Pirate Cake

Pirate Cake

I needed to make a Pirate Cake and I thought that making the skull out of fondant was going to be a piece of cake but BOY was I wrong!  My sister Connie was helping me with this cake and I think we were both going crazy with that darn skull!!  But oh well... it wasn't exactly what I wanted but that night we made 3 cakes and I worked that day so we were pretty much out of time and completely tired.

Mickey Mouse Luau Birthday Cake

A good friend of mine asked me for a Birthday cake for her adorable grandson's 2nd Birthday.  The theme of the party was going to be luau, but she wanted the cake to have Mickey Mouse on it!  So I tried my best to combine both ideas.   My favorite thing about children's cakes is that you can make them really busy and the kids love them, the more you add the nicer they look!  but the cakes for adults are the complete opposite,  you have to know when to stop because if you add a lot, they tend to look tacky.

Minnie Mouse Buttercream Cake

Sad day... to find that my baby girl Layla is not a baby anymore :(  She just turned 5 Years old and will now attend school!  Since we decided to not have any more children, it makes me very sad to know that my little one is growing up.  But you know something Layla... I don't care how old you get, you will always be my baby girl <3

She wanted her Birthday theme to be Minnie Mouse but she wanted Pink because that is her favorite color, so of course... I would do exactly what made her happy, and she was.

My awesome sister Connie helped me with the cupcakes!  She had fun with all the buttercream swirls and sprinkles.  She also made her Invitations, decorations and party bags!  I am blessed to have the family that I have... they always help me without me even having to ask, and if I did ask they would do it even quicker :)  My sister in law and my brother got her Jumper and Pinata!  The Minnie mouse Pinata was taller then me!  and she was full of candy, so full that it was hard to lift her off the ground!  Minnie Mouse needed to go on a diet! :)

Piano Garden Cake

Piano Garden Cake

It was soon to be Yohana's Birthday and her husband (my Brother) wanted to make her a special cake.  She plays the piano so he wanted the theme to somehow involve a piano.  She also very much loves flowers and the color pink so we just threw it all in there!  We weren't exactly sure where we were going with this one but we just kept on making flowers and sticking them!  :)  At the end it wasn't one of my favorite cakes but I actually got a lot of compliments on it!  I love baking!  :)

Well the Birthday Girl Loved, Loved, Loved it and that really is, all that matters!  Specially since my brother helped me with this cake!

Over The Hill Cake #3

Over The Hill Cake #3

Hi Everyone!   So I had a good day today!  I had a request for an Over The Hill Cake, and since I haven't made a cake in a while, I was exited to do it!  My sister Karla came over to help me decorate the cake!  I love spending time with my sisters.  We all have such busy lives that when we get together even if it's to decorate a cake I enjoy it so much because we get to catch up on all the good and bad things that life has given us!  Also... the "Juicy Gossip" :)

The cake was for my sisters BOSS!  He was going to be turning 50!  I love over the hill cakes... and this was the perfect opportunity to get creative.  I wanted to make DEPEND underwear, Viagra Pills, Preparation H Cream, walking cane, etc..  but she turned me down, she said that she still wanted her job!  Besides they wanted a small cake..  So we did the best we could with what we had to work with!  It was her idea to have half of the cake Black and half Green!  I liked it.
The cake was Chocolate with Vanilla cream filling and vanilla buttercream frosting under the fondant!  Everything is edible... I don't like using anything on a cake that is not edible!

Welcome to Oldsville
